Common questions

How does Trippi track my mileage without GPS?

Trippi reads your Google or Microsoft calendar events that have a location attached. At the end of each day, it uses a directions service to calculate the driving distance between your base location and the event location, then logs a return journey. No GPS, no app, no battery drain.

What counts as a trip?

Any calendar event that has a location field filled in. If your event has an address, postcode, or place name, Trippi will detect it and calculate the mileage. Events without locations are ignored.

Are the HMRC rates always up to date?

Yes. Trippi uses the current HMRC-compliant mileage rates: 45p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles in a tax year, and 25p per mile thereafter. We update these immediately if HMRC changes them.

Can I edit or delete a logged trip?

Absolutely. Your dashboard shows every logged trip and you can edit the mileage, add notes, mark as personal, or delete trips entirely. You have full control over what appears in your reports.

Is my data secure?

Trippi uses OAuth 2.0 for calendar access (we never see your password), encrypts all data with 256-bit SSL, and only reads calendar event data once per day. We never track your live location and never share your data with third parties.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes — every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required. If you decide it's not for you, simply don't subscribe. Your data is deleted after 30 days of inactivity.
